If beautiful design stems from the “less is more” philosophy, so does thoughtful manufacturing.
It’s with this principle that we design our gift wrap. And it is with this principle that we make them.
Therefore, tucked behind scalloped archways of Northern India, artisans make every sheet of paper by hand - helping reduce our carbon footprint, while earning their living; with cotton textile waste from across Asia for a completely treeless product.
It starts with . . .
We pick textile waste from across Asia, sort them and chop them to convert the material into fabric pulp.
The cotton fabric is mixed with water and color dyes in large vats for pulp creation. Artisans then take the pulp and separate each sheet by felt to drain out the excess water.
Every piece of paper is individually hang-dried on a line, directly under the sun.
Artisans then prepare the ink and transfer the designs onto the paper with a silk-screen, a method that allows the ink to seep through the sections that hold the print.
Marble+Vine is known for creating the best wrapping paper that is beautiful and eco friendly. We participate in markets all over the Northeast and we’ve heard your questions about DIY projects.
