Eco-Friendly DIY Wedding Ideas

Eco-Friendly DIY Wedding Ideas

January 05, 2018

We've rounded up some of our favorite DIY wedding ideas! We've had a few weddings in our family this year and by trial and error we have some of the best suggestions on decor, stationery, and gifts

Beautiful. Tested. Trending & Unique. Modern. Eco-friendly. Budget conscious

    1. DIY Guest Room Checkin Bags

    • Start with Marble+Vine Wedding Gift Bags
    • Order Custom Chocolates from Eat Chic Chocolate
    • Fill up on all essentials: Sparkling Water, Aspirin, Salty Snacks, Mints
    • Finish it off with a small welcome note on Marble+Vine Gift Tags
    • Have someone from your wedding party drop off to the hotels the day before guest check-in!

    2. Evites .....

Now before you close the screen - hear me out! Evites historically were cheesy email cards that sang and danced around on the screen. That's not the case anymore! The Knot has changed the wedding invite game. You can send formal invitations electronically allowing your guests RSVP and select their dinner entree in one step. It's a huge money and time saver. This eco-friendly and treeless option is growing in popularity. Wedding websites are also a great place to tell your love story, introduce your wedding party, and give details around the wedding weekend. Just a bonus that you'll also save $$$

    3. DIY Name Cards

    • Generally name cards have to be customized anyways to note the guests entree selection.
    • Here's a customer secret: most Marble+Vine papers are reversible to a solid color. Pick a color that matches your theme and use Marble+Vine thick cotton paper as your card stock! It will hold up as a durable paper but guests will also get to experience the beautiful fabric
    • Pick a theme or decor that fits the mood of your wedding. Here is one of our favorites using our Modern Dot Iced Latte Gift Wrap (reserve side)

    4. Flowers: are such an essential part of the wedding day decor and of course we want them everywhere!! Flower walls, cascading bouquets, greenery and blooms draping the guest tables. The dream and vision are real.

    • Learn to DIY recycled paper flowers for strategic placement! The cake table, cigar bar, and flower wall might be good places to start!
    • Repurpose and move flowers as the day goes on. You'll need to think it through and assign someone to be responsible but with a little planning you can move flowers from the ceremony to the cocktail hour to the reception to the afterparty! Plus they're too beautiful to only be enjoyed for a part of the day!

    5. The Best Gift Wrap

Last but never least, plan ahead for all of your wedding day gifting needs! It is nice to have something special for your parents, soon to be groom and your bridal party! (check out that blog here)  Be sure wrap your gifts using the best wedding gift wrap. Marble+Vine. Our full wedding collection features parisian prints, gold foils, seasonal prints and a classic Modern White Gloss.
